Yasuchika Hasegawa

Yasuchika Hasegawa was Chairman of the Board of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. He has been with the company since 1970, including three years in Germany and ten years in the United States as Vice President and then President of TAP Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Chicago. He joined Takeda’s Board of Directors in 1999, became President in 2003, Chief Executive Officer in 2009, and Chairman in 2014. He retired from Takeda in June 2019.

Mr. Hasegawa was also Chairman of the Keizai Doyukai (Japan Association of Corporate Executives) from 2011 to April 2015, and was a member of the Abe government’s Industrial Competitiveness Council in 2013 and 2014. He graduated from Waseda University.
